The worse thing you can do to a battery is charge it after every use, you need to drain it to a minimum 25% before charging

People complain about charging being an inconvenience on road trips but it really isn’t. A lot of Tesla super chargers are located near a convenience store, hotel, restaurant. In road trips, I like to take breaks after 3 hours of driving , charge it to 80% in 30 mins while I grab a bite to eat or use the restroom.. it’s not as bad as people think.. yall just like to complain..

Saying what they (think) THAY can do with them , and doing it big different THAY will say anything to make sales go up but in truth they can't do anything with the spent batteries this spent they're done that's like taking a old cigarette and making a new cigarette from the ash like to see how that you've done so they're all full of crap when the battery is spent it's spent material inside is dead cannot be made in to new battery what crap and at some stage they have sucked the planet dry what then rich go to new planet and every one else die

NMC batteries (LiNiMnCoO2) are the most common lithium-ion battery chemistry used in electric vehicles in the USA, including the 2nd generation Nissan Leaf and many Tesla models. NMC batteries suffer the lowest capacity degradation during idle (storage) at 30% of max charge, not 50%. The degradation increases significantly in hot weather. Smaller, more frequent charges are also easier on the battery as opposed to full charge and discharge cycles. This is because the cathode side of the battery contains microcrystalline structures which expand and contract during charging and discharging cycles, causing tiny cracks in the crystalline structure. The less expansion and contraction, the less damage to the battery. So you are better off charging your battery twice from 30% to 70% as opposed to once from 10% to 90%. So in short, you can drastically extend your car battery's life by doing these 4 things: 1. Leave your car at or near 30% max charge when parked and program your car to charge up just before you need to drive it. 2. Avoid full charges and discharges when possible. A good rule of thumb is to keep it between 20% and 80% for driving. 3. Slow charge and slow discharge whenever possible. Batteries degrade quicker during faster discharging and charging. So keep those freeway speeds a bit slower. The battery will heat up more at high freeway speeds than in stop and go city traffic. 4. Keep your car out of the heat as much as possible. Heat degrades battery capacity even if the battery is not being used. If you do these 4 things, the car battery should last over 250,000 miles.

No one wants to charge slower at a supercharger, but in my case I live at a condo which doesn’t allow charging and there is a new supercharger down the street. Can you trickle charge at a supercharger in this case?

New EV driver and owner here. It's been 1 1/2 weeks and my ChargePoint Level 2 home charger won't be installed until June 10, 2024 but I probably can hold out 4 weeks on a charge but just in case, found 2 local public chargers within 15 minutes from my home in case I need to charge up before my installation date. Once I get my home charger installed, I'll venture out further with my EV as I know I'll have a charger at home upon my return. Oh, and I have a KIA Niro EV.

I have a 2024 Hummer SUV. I am Florida and signed up for their Evolution Flat Rate Plan. I put on 2000 miles per month. I am saving about $450 a month in gas. The plan is $32 per month Unlimited charging. Incredible deal for all who can get such a deal. 50 AMP hardwired charger puts 18 miles per hour range on the Hummer. I fill to 80% every night. The total range on the Hummer is about 318 miles. I rarely put more than 50 miles per day. More on the weekend. Never charge away from home. The Hummer will cost over $80 per fill up at EV America 350KW chargers, The battery is close to 200 KW hours.
